the September 18th Black Hole Event on Youtube

  Did you miss the live event but want to check it out?  Thanks to SALA, there is a video of the evnt including the film screenings and the Q&A and panel discussion with Grothus family members.  Check it out at  https://youtu.be/7qmJcr20HuY?si=g2V4i1h4GjBD4LaL It was a fun evening with an engaged audience. In addition to the Q&A, a number of interesting ideas were shared about what a Black Hole museum could be like and where it could be situated. Several people hung around to chat and share Pi-238 Pizza and Barbara Grothus's homemade apple pie amongst the Creative Use Art Exhibition in the SALA lobby. Recycled Art Available For Pick-up

Thank you to all workshop participants and all of you who let your art be displayed as part of the Creative Reuse Art Exhibit, which recently ended.  Please email placesandspacesla@gmail.com for instructions about how to retrieve your art if you want to do so.  We will keep it for a few weeks to give time to pick it up.  Any art that is not claimed will be recycled into future art projects.

“The Black Hole: A Unique Slice of Los Alamos' Heritage” September 18th at SALA

Places & Spaces Los Alamos invites you to a community forum titled   “The Black Hole: A Unique Slice of Los Alamos' Heritage,”   to be held on   Thursday, September 18, at 6 PM at the SALA Event Center . The event, part of SALA’s Parallel Cinema Series, will provide a unique opportunity for the public to engage with the history of one of Los Alamos's legendary landmarks and citizens and learn about an initiative to preserve that history.  The event is free and open to the community. Films and Discussion Panel The evening will begin with a brief video about the Places & Spaces Black Hole Museum Initiative. Following this, two short documentary films will be screened: “Atomic Ed and the Black Hole” by filmmaker Ellen Spiros, and “Atomic Ed” by documentarian Janire Najera. Creative Reuse Art Exhibition at SALA September 13-20

As part of the Places & Spaces Black Hole Museum Initiative, there will be a Creative Reuse Art Exhibition at SALA September 13-20 during SALA's hours of operation.
